History

Following the proposal by the Ministry of Roads and Transportation, and the resolution of the Cabinet meeting, the State Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructures Specialized Holding Company was founded in 2004-2005, under Article 4 of the Law on the Third National Development Plan in order to achieve organizational solidarity, minimize the administrative role, and strengthen the strategic affairs of state transport management, and to have an integrated management in transport infrastructures.

The Company was formed by integration of three ministerial departments including:

Road Construction and Development Department, Railway Construction and Development Department, Port and Airport Construction and Development Department, as well as the General Directorate of Freeway Construction, and Machinery Supply Company, so that planning, design, and construction of national transport infrastructures are conducted by a single entity.
